Before diving in...

  1. Make sure you're eligible and subscribe to the Works Registration Management plan.

  2. Review our Onboarding Process: you won't be able to register works until the onboarding is completed

Get your Work ready for Registration

Add your Work and your splits

Create a new Work by clicking on:

  1. Works > Repertoire

  2. Add your metadata and your splits (Works + Works Splits info 👉 here)

🔈If you already have an audio file, start by adding a Recording and we'll automatically create a related Work for you. Remember to fill in the necessary metadata for the Work after you're done with the Recording.

Request an ISWC

Get your ISWC before submitting a Work registration. Here's how to request an ISWC

Submitting Works for Registration

To submit a work for registration:

  1. Select the Works to be registered

  2. Click on Register

  3. Your selected Works will be added to Registration - To Submit on the side menu

Verifying your metadata for registration

Our registration checkpoint will highlight errors, warnings, and updates for your Works registration. Errors and warning will notify you of missing or incomplete metadata. You must make sure that the errors are resolved or else you will not be able to submit your Works for registration. Updates are simply to notify you that we'll be sending revisions for your Works registration.

You will see one of the errors if:

  • Your splits are not equal to 100%

  • One of your co-writer or co-creator has a publisher

  • Try to submit a work registration where you do not have a split

You will see a warning if:

  • One of your co-writer hasn't provided their IPI in their Profile.

You will see an update if:

  • You have a new Recording that was published. This means that we'll send a revision for your Work registration and submit the recording metadata.

If there are no more errors, click on Submit Registrations. All Works in To Submit will be sent for registration. If you don't want to include a Work to be registered, simply click on "x". You can re-add it when it's ready.

⚠️ Once you click on Submit Registrations, you won't be able to edit anything in the Work or the splits - while it's pending registration as well as when it'll be registered.

Keeping up with the progress of your Works registration

As soon as you have submitted your Work registrations, you will be able to see different statuses so you can keep track of its progress.

To view the registration status, you have 2 options:

  1. In your Repertoire, click on the bookmark and turn on your PRO. This will show the registration status for all works in your repertoire.

  2. If you click on the 🔎 for a specific Works, under Related Recording, in the Registrations you will see the status.

Yes, the user submitting Works registration has to be a member of our eligible PROs/MROs.

My Work information has changed, but I can't edit it.
